We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Draftsperson to support our sales, operations, and production teams.
In this role you will take designs from concepts through to workshop drawings, being part of the process right through to supporting the production team in the manufacturing phase.
This is an significant role that contributes largely to the success of our projects and workshop efficiencies.
This is a full-time role and will be based in Austral's Derwent Park office.
You will be working as part of an established, but ever improving and growing team.Key responsibilitiesCreate and revise technical drawings using Autodesk InventorLiaise with customers and the sales team to understand project requirementsManage offshore draftsmanshipAssist fabrication team with any issues that arise during productionSupport product development and continuous improvement initiativesAbout youCertificate III or IV in Engineering Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related disciplineExperience using Autodesk InventorStrong technical and mechanical aptitudeExcellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to confidently communicate with customers, suppliers,



and internal stakeholdersAustralian work rights with the ability to work permanently in AustraliaExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving skillsThe ability to manage other draftsmen, and multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlinesA proactive, positive, and team-oriented approachExperience in fabrication or manufacturing environments (desirable)Knowledge of CNC routing, welding, or manufacturing processes (desirable)About usAustral International is a leading designer and manufacturer of high-quality safety access covers and other associated products for the water and wastewater industries.
