Join Trauma Assist, a trauma informed organisation dedicated to supporting children, young people and families impacted by trauma, behavioural challenges and neurodevelopmental presentations.We are seeking Developmental Intervention Practitioners to join our multidisciplinary team.

families and communities through high quality support services.About the RoleThe Developmental Intervention Practitioner provides practical, child focused support aimed at improving emotional wellbeing, behaviour, social skills and functional outcomes for children.You will work directly with children and families to:Support emotional regulation and self management skillsImplement positive behaviour support strategiesBuild resilience, confidence and social skillsAssist children to develop routines, coping strategies and healthy relationshipsProvide psychoeducation and practical coaching to parents and caregiversSupport families to better understand trauma, attachment, ASD and ADHDCollaborate with schools, health professionals and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomesThis role focuses on behavioural intervention, skill development and caregiver support and does not provide clinical counselling services.The role will be supported by a clinical counselling lead.Key RequirementsDegree qualifications in Psychology, Applied Psychology, Counselling, Occupational Therapy, Human Services, Education (Early Childhood or Primary), Behavioural Science or a related discipline.Practical experience working within Allied Health, Child Development,
Family Support or Counselling Services and supporting children impacted by trauma, family violence, abuse or neglectKnowledge and application of trauma informed practiceAbility to build strong relationships with children, families and caregiversExperience providing coaching, psychoeducation or practical support to parents and carersStrong communication, engagement and interpersonal skillsWell developed documentation, report writing and organisational skillsCurrent Queensland Driver Licence (C Class)Current Blue Card or ability to obtainAbility to successfully complete a Criminal History CheckHighly RegardedDiploma qualified candidates with significant experience in Early Childhood, Allied Health, Behaviour Support, Family Support or Child DevelopmentPractical experience working with children presenting with behavioural, emotional, developmental, ASD and ADHD related challenges in early childhoodTraining in behaviour support, emotional regulation, attachment focused interventions or child development frameworksExperience delivering parent coaching, caregiver education or family capacity building programsExperience working within multidisciplinary teamsRemunerationSocial, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS) ****Salary will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience.We also offer:Professional development opportunitiesExternal supervisionSalary packaging benefitsFlexible work arrangementsA supportive and collaborative workplace culture
