Your role will be to engage with fishermen and the general public at local boat ramps, record catch details, and accurately identify fish species.About the role:Conduct interviews with fishermen at public boat ramps in WeipaRecord data on fish species caught as part of ongoing research and monitoringWork 2weekend shifts (Sat or Sunday) and 2Fridays per month:
approx 4shifts per month - 4 hour shiftsWhat we're looking for:Genuine interest in fishing and marine lifeStrong knowledge of local fish species and confident identification skillsExcellent communication skills and confidence in approaching members of the publicReliability and attention to detailMUSTbe an Australian citizen or permanent resident to apply for this role.
(Working Holiday Visas will not be considered as this role will be ongoing and may lead to permanency).
