Our organisation also includes Glass Jar Australia (GJA) and its impactful Shooting Stars program, which empowers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and young women through education, sport and wellbeing.About the RoleWe're looking for an experienced Venue & Events Manager to lead the strategic and operational management of the Gold Netball Centre (GNC), along with supporting the delivery of Netball WA's major competitions, carnivals and events.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a key leadership role responsible for helping shape the ongoing growth, utilisation and commercial sustainability of one of WA's premier netball facilities.
You will be central in bringing some of WA's biggest netball competitions and community events to life.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the day-to-day operations of the Gold Netball Centre (GNC), ensuring a safe, efficient, customer-focused and well-presented venueManaging venue operations and logistical requirements for Netball WA competitions and community events, including Association Championships in collaboration with the Community DepartmentOversee venue operations and maintain Netball WA's obligations under the Co-Management Agreement with VenuesWest, including Gold Netball Centre budgets and financial reportingMaximise venue utilisation and identify commercial opportunities to grow revenue through competitions, events, programs and external venue usersOverseeing venue security, access, CCTV, alarms, keys and fobs, as well as maintenance and facility presentation including elite recovery facilitiesOverseeing the day-to-day operation of the venue kiosk with the Venue Coordinator, including staffing, stock customer service, cash handling and financial performanceLead and manage GNC staff, volunteers and contractors, including workforce planning and performance managementEnsure strong risk management,
WHS and compliance practices across the venue and eventsLeading a culture of continuous improvement, first class customer service and operational excellence and efficiencySupporting strategic facility development and identifying opportunities to grow the use, profile and commercial sustainability of the Gold Netball CentreWhat You'll BringRelevant qualification in Sports Management, Event Management, Business Management or a related discipline (Essential)Minimum three (3) years' experience in venue management, event management or related field (Essential)Approved Manager and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate or willingness to obtain one (Essential)Ability to work flexibly with rostered hours across weekdays, weekends and evenings (Essential)Demonstrated experience managing a multi-use venue, including day-to-day operations, contractors, security, maintenance and stakeholder relationshipsExperience in budget management, financial reporting and commercial operationsDemonstrated ability in leading and managing staff, contractors and volunteers, including performance management and workforce planningExperience in the sport/not-for-profit industry would be highly regardedExcellent organisational and communication skillsStrong relationship building and stakeholder engagement experienceDemonstrated alignment with NWA values and a commitment to service excellenceWhy join Netball WA?
