About Playbill Venues
Playbill Venues is the venue management company responsible for managing "The Hordern Pavilion", Sydney's iconic entertainment, cultural and live music venue.
The organisation is focussed on delivering exceptional customer experiences through a diverse and evolving range of events.
Role Purpose
The Event Activation Manager is directly responsible for leading the operational delivery of event food and beverage services in support of the Customer Services Manager to ensure the successful and compliant performance of the Playbill Venues food and beverage department.
Manage pop-up F&B; operations at contracted venues and lead curation and design of the Hordern Plaza activation ensuing Playbill Venues delivers an optimal experience, to clients and patrons.
This includes supervising Playbill Venues casual workforce, food and beverage service providers and contracted suppliers.
Permanent position (1 FTE), based on 38 hours a week.
Weekend and public holidays work will be required.

Essential Skills and Experience
3 years' experience in a comparative management role.Robust leadership, communication, and organisational skillsExcellent customer and client focusBroad understanding of event and food and beverage operations in venuesAbility to create and develop opportunities for food and beverage salesValid Advanced NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol Competency and ability to act as nominated Licensee Representative for venues under managementProven ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, industry, government, contractors and professionals
Areas of Responsibility
Event/Venue Operations
Lead the F&B; department in maintaining and improving the business financial outcomesSupervise and ensure processes and directions are carried out within the operational teamSet up and maintain F&B; outlets and storage areasSupervise and implement event delivery requirements for the F&B; departmentEffective F&B; stock ordering,



monitoring and controlProcedural adherence including accurate monthly stocktake and post event reportingGuarantee PV's adherence and compliance to NSW Liquor licensing laws and regulationsEnsuring F&B; department is adhering to council regulationsIdentifying and supervising third party F&B; services, suppliers and contacts that enhance PV's successMaximise patron and client satisfaction and safetyKey business reporting on area of responsibilityEnsure and maintain the F&B; department adherence to Group WHS standardsOther duties as required
Event Curation
Design and curate pop-up activation events for the plaza and other venues as determinedDesign and deliver integrated themed café and bar experiences into the diverse range of Hordern Pavilion eventsDesign and manage themed pop-up food and beverage experiences for national touring events as secured by Playbill Venues
Casual Staff Management
Manage appropriate event specific staffing levelsManage and roster casual workforce on monthly and fortnightly intervals as requiredRecruit and continually develop casual F&B; workforce to ensure F&B; department standards, focusing on PV's RSA complianceOnboard new employees ensuring they are trained, inducted, informed of WHS procedures and presentation standardsEnsure safe systems of work are understood and adhered to by casual workforce in all department area'sMaximise retention by building the morale and positive culture for the casual workforceOther duties as required
WHS and the Environmental Management Systems
Ensure all venue operations under the role are delivered in accordance with company policies and management systems, including WHS and the Environmental Management System (ISO *****:****)
Desirable Skills and Experience
Previous experience as a nominated manager or liquor licenseeNSW Advanced Licensee qualificationExperience with Square POS and stock control systemsExperience with Deputy rostering platformKnowledge of entertainment and live music industriesClass C Driver's LicenseForklift licence (or ability to obtain)
