We are seeking an analytically minded candidate with a passion for the energy industry to join our high performing team and support the market operation and optimisation of Vena Energy Australia's renewable and battery portfolio in the National Electricity Market (NEM).
In this role, you will be directly involved in bidding generation assets into the NEM, analysing market outcomes, and assessing the operational and financial performance of our solar and battery assets.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electricity industry professional, currently working as a Market Analyst or Trade Analyst, who is keen to deepen their exposure to battery storage and spot market operations as part of Australia's energy transition.
The role includes shift-based work aligned with peak NEM operating hours, including some non-business days, reflecting the nature of real-time market operations.Key ResponsibilitiesMarket Operations Contribute to the development of bidding strategies for solar and battery assetsExecute bidding strategies in the NEMSupport dispatch oversight, optimisation and ancillary services participation for BESS and solar assetsMarket & Asset Analysis Analyse NEM spot market outcomes and competitor behaviourReview operational and financial performance of solar and battery assetsProvide insights and recommendations to inform future spot market strategiesMarket Intelligence & Modelling Analyse forward electricity and renewable certificate marketsResearch industry, regulatory and market developments impacting the NEMDevelop and maintain analytical tools, models and datasets to support spot trading and decision-makingCollaboration Work closely with Operations & Maintenance and Finance teams to support optimal commercial and operational outcomesPrerequisitesQualifications Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering,
