Our WHS Advisors are out where the work happens – alongside construction crews, supervisors and project teams, supporting the safe delivery of some of South Australia's most significant HV electrical maintenance and infrastructure projects.
We're looking for a WHS Advisor who understands construction, can talk to a crew as comfortably as they can talk to a Project Manager, and isn't afraid to get involved when they see something that needs attention.
With around 70% of your time field-based, you'll work across a diverse range of operational teams and sites, including remote work sites where you'll be the WHS presence on the ground.Conducting safety observations, inspections and field auditsSpending time with crews to understand how work is being performed and whether controls are effectiveVerifying procedures, SWMS and risk controls are being followed in practiceProviding practical safety coaching and addressing issues as they ariseWorking with supervisors and project leaders to close out safety actionsAttending pre-starts, toolbox talks and operational safety meetingsDeveloping and reviewing SWMS and risk controls as new work and projects get underwaySupporting incident reporting, investigations and corrective actionsConducting vehicle,
plant and site safety checksMonitoring subcontractor compliance and performanceProviding WHS input into contract managementMonitoring safety systems including Enablon and SitePassPreparing monthly WHS reporting and project/client updatesAttending client meetings and representing WHS in operational discussionsWorking alongside the Environment team on environmental matters identified in the fieldAbout youWe're looking for someone who understands what it means to work in a high-risk construction environment and has experience with heavy civils works such as excavation, trenching, working at heights, mobile plant operation and civil construction.
You will also have a good understanding of electrical work environments and the hazards associated with working around HV electrical infrastructure.
But what matters most is that you're someone who can walk onto a site, understand the work, earn the crew's respect and have the conversation that needs to be had.WHS experience within civil construction, electrical infrastructure, utilities or a similar high-risk environmentA strong understanding of WHS legislation, codes, standards and safety systemsExperience conducting safety observations, audits, inspections and risk assessmentsConfidence reviewing and developing SWMS and risk controlsThe ability to coach and influence rather than simply police complianceStrong communication skills and the confidence to challenge when requiredThe ability to build relationships with everyone from field crews to senior project leadersA practical, solutions-focused approachThe ability to work autonomously across multiple sites and operational teamsA current driver's licence and the flexibility to travel across South AustraliaA relevant WHS qualification such as a Cert IV or Diploma will be highly regardedAbout usThe work behind the networkWhen you join Enerven,
