We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Superintendent to join Portland Aluminium.Reporting to the Maintenance & Reliability Manager, you will lead electrical and instrumentation maintenance across the site, providing governance of HV and LV systems while acting as the site's Electrical Safety Authority.
You will champion electrical safety, compliance, reliability and continuous improvement through effective maintenance strategies, regulatory oversight, incident investigations and team development.
This is a key leadership role focused on ensuring the safe, reliable and compliant operation of critical electrical assets while building capability across electrical teams and contractors.

equipment reliability and root cause analysisThe ability to provide practical and timely solutions to complex maintenance, reliability and operational challengesStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with operational teams, technical specialists, contractors and regulatory bodiesA proactive commitment to workplace health and safety, hazard identification, risk assessment and continuous improvementKey responsibilitiesProvide site-wide leadership and governance for electrical and instrumentation maintenance and electrical safetyAct as the site Electrical Safety authority and maintain the Electrical Safety Management SystemOversee the safe and compliant operation of high voltage and low voltage systems, switching activities and system upgradesLead electrical audits, regulatory engagement, incident investigations and the closure of corrective actionsImprove electrical asset availability and reliability through effective preventative maintenance and root cause analysisDevelop the capability of electrical and instrumentation employees through coaching, training and technical guidanceSupport electrical infrastructure upgrades and provide recommendation on the suitability and serviceability of equipmentDrive continuous improvement in maintenance effectiveness, safety performance and cost efficiencyAdditional informationThis position forms part of an on-call roster Interviews may progress prior to the closing date, although all applications will be considered Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for an interview.
