Curiosity Tree Burpengary is looking for a Kitchen Coordinator to run our centre kitchen day to day.
You'll heat, finish and serve nutritious meals to children aged 0–5, keep the kitchen clean and organised, and make sure our food safety standards are met every day.This is a step up from a standard kitchen hand role.
You'll be the person our team relies on to make sure every child gets the right meal, safely, every time.
That includes children with allergies and special dietary needs.

This is a permanent role.
$30–$35/hr, with the ECEC Worker Retention Payment on topWeekday hours, (hours, e.g. 7:00am–2:00pm).
No nights, weekends or public holidays.Your own kitchen to runTraining and mentoring from a team of enthusiastic and experienced chefsFunded Food Safety Supervisor and allergen training if you don't already hold themA modern, well-equipped kitchenSupportive, collaborative leadership that listens and appreciates youWellbeing initiatives & team appreciation (we love a celebration!)What You'll Be DoingMealsReceiving and checking food deliveriesSafely heating, finishing, portioning and serving daily meals and snacksPreparing simple items such as fruit, sandwiches and bottles, as neededJoining in simple food preparation activities with children, supporting fun food-based learningAllergens and dietary needsKeeping each child's allergy and dietary information up to date, working with our Centre Manager and educatorsMaking sure every child receives the right meal, with clear labelling and checks before food leaves the kitchenPreventing cross-contact through careful storage,



preparation and servingRaising any concerns or changes straight awayRunning the kitchenFollowing our food safety program, including temperature checks and daily recordsKeeping the kitchen clean, sanitised and well organised at all timesManaging stock, storage, date labelling and ordering of kitchen suppliesLooking after equipment and reporting maintenance needsBeing ready for food safety audits and inspectionsSharing feedback with our chef team on what the children enjoyWe're looking for someone who is:Organised and careful, with a sharp eye for detailConfident working on their own and making sound decisionsWarm, reliable and positiveA clear communicator with educators, chefs and familiesCalm when the kitchen is busyGenuinely fond of children and proud to be part of their dayWhat You BringExperience in a commercial kitchen, hospitality, aged care or childcare kitchenA strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practicesFood Safety Supervisor certificate (or willingness to obtain)Allergen management training or experience (or willingness to complete training)Confidence keeping accurate daily recordsPhysically fit for the demands of the role, including standing for long periods, safely bending, lifting and carrying and responding quickly in an emergencyGetting here:Easy access from the Bruce Hwy.
