Based in Underwood, we service and repair washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, electric and induction cooktops, refrigerators and other domestic appliances across Greater Brisbane, Ipswich and the northern Gold Coast.About the roleYou will diagnose, service, maintain and repair electronic equipment and systems incorporated into domestic appliances.Working from our Underwood base and attending customer premises, you will focus on electronic fault diagnosis and the repair of appliance control boards, electronic modules, sensors, displays and associated circuitry.Key responsibilitiesExamine and test electronic equipment and assemblies within domestic appliances to identify faults, determine their causes and establish appropriate repair methods.Interpret electronic circuit diagrams, manufacturer technical manuals, service specifications and diagnostic fault codes.Use electronic diagnostic equipment and suitable test instruments to locate faults in printed circuit boards, electronic modules, sensors, display panels and signal connections.Diagnose malfunctions in electronic user interfaces, motor control modules, temperature control modules and communication between appliance electronic assemblies.Inspect electronic assemblies to identify damaged components, defective connections and malfunctioning modules.Repair or replace defective electronic components,
printed circuit board assemblies, sensors, display modules and connectors in accordance with manufacturer specifications.Fit and configure replacement electronic modules, including manufacturer-prescribed setup, programming and parameter adjustments where applicable.Reassemble equipment following repairs, run diagnostic and functional test cycles, and adjust settings to restore correct operation.Verify communication between electronic modules and sensors, confirm operating performance and ensure identified faults have been resolved.Service and maintain electronic equipment and assemblies to support reliable operation and prevent recurring faults.Identify compatible replacement electronic components and modules and coordinate ordering with the office and suppliers.Explain electronic fault findings and repair options to customers, and advise on correct equipment operation and care.Maintain accurate service records covering diagnostic readings, identified faults, repairs, replacement components and final test results.Follow manufacturer handling instructions, electrostatic discharge precautions and applicable workplace safety procedures.Maintain electronic diagnostic instruments, service tools and spare component stock.Skills and experienceWe are looking for someone with:A relevant Certificate III incorporating at least two years of on-the-job training,
Certificate IV, or equivalent qualification in electronics or electronic equipment servicing; alternatively, at least three years of relevant experience.Demonstrated experience diagnosing and repairing electronic equipment and electronically controlled domestic appliances.Practical knowledge of electronic circuitry, printed circuit board assemblies, sensors, electronic modules and appliance control systems.The ability to interpret electronic circuit diagrams, manufacturer service information and diagnostic codes.Competence in using electronic test instruments and applying systematic fault-finding procedures.Experience replacing and configuring electronic assemblies and verifying equipment operation after repairs.A current Australian Class C driver licence.Valuable communication, organisation and customer service skills.The ability to work independently and maintain accurate electronic service records.What we offerFull-time employment with an established appliance repair business.An annual base salary of $90,896–$118,560 plus superannuation, depending on qualifications and experience.Overtime paid separately in accordance with the applicable award.A fully equipped company service van and paid travel between jobs.A Monday-to-Friday roster, generally 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with 38 ordinary hours per week averaged over a 28-day cycle and a rostered day off each cycle.Field work across Greater Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, the Redlands and the northern Gold Coast, with an Underwood base.Contact: Steven White, DirectorTelephone: Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome.
