Care Assist Recruitment – North Sydney NSWCare Assist Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and reliable Day Program Assistant to join our team in North Sydney NSW ****.
This is a casual position that offers working arrangements to support individuals with disability needs through our day program services.
As a Day Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering quality support and engagement to participants, helping them maintain independence, social connection and overall wellbeing whilst accessing our community-based services.Key responsibilitiesProviding direct care and support to program participants during day program sessions, assisting with daily living activities as requiredSupporting participants in recreational, social and therapeutic activities designed to promote engagement and wellbeingMaintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, following relevant health and safety protocolsAssisting with personal care tasks in a respectful and dignified mannerCommunicating effectively with participants, families, and team members about participant needs and progressSupporting the coordination of activities and programs that encourage social participation and community connectionMaintaining accurate records and documentation as required by the organisationResponding to participant requests and concerns in a timely and professional mannerAssisting with transport-related duties as needed, including support during transit to and from the day programWhat we're looking forExperience working in aged care, disability support,
or community services environmentsStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with participants of diverse backgrounds and abilitiesA genuine compassion for supporting vulnerable individuals and a commitment to person-centred careAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative teamGood physical fitness and ability to provide hands-on support when requiredCurrent or willingness to obtain relevant certifications such as First Aid and CPRA valid Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain oneReliability and flexibility, with the ability to adapt to the casual nature of the roleDemonstrated ability to follow policies, procedures and duty of care responsibilitiesPreferred: Previous experience in day programs, community centers or similar settingsWhat we offerAt Care Assist Recruitment, we believe in creating a supportive workplace where our team members feel valued and empowered.
