The Salvos offer hope, purpose, and fulfillment for anyone seeking connection, guidance, social support and community.About the role As a Children & Families Ministry Assistant (Operations), this is your opportunity to lead and coordinate children and families ministry operations, ensuring programs, volunteers and activities are well organised and aligned with The Salvation Army's mission and values.
Reporting to the Corps Officers, this is a permanent, part‐time role, offering 19 hours a week, based on site in Howrah, Tasmania.How you will make an impactLead and coordinate engaging children and families programs, outreach initiatives and camps that support connection, belonging and faith development.Build strong relationships with children and families, creating pathways for increased participation in the life of the Corps.Develop and deliver age‐appropriate faith and discipleship programs for children aged 0–12.Equip and support parents,
carers and volunteers to nurture children's spiritual growth and wellbeing.Recruit, train and lead volunteer teams, ensuring compliance with safeguarding, screening and child‐safe requirements.Collaborate with ministry leaders to strengthen mission outcomes while ensuring programs meet safety, compliance and risk management standards.What you will bringA commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation ArmyAn ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian GospelCertificate IV level in ministry or demonstrated equivalent relevant experience, knowledge and skills is desirable.A solid understanding of TSA Doctrines & Principles (desirable)Capacity to facilitate groups and one to one with a particular focus e.g. faith-based groupsAbility to work autonomously while contributing positively within a team environment.Experience building supportive and inclusive relationships with children and familiesQualificationsA national police record check is requiredDrivers LicenceWorking With Children CheckWhat we offerGenerous Paid Parental leave for primary (12 weeks) & secondary carersPurchased Leave Scheme (up to 8 weeks)
