Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or demonstrated experience in a similar role
n
Strong working knowledge and practical application of the Companion Animals Act ****, Public Spaces and (Unattended Property) Act ****and animal welfare standards
n
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage conflict and engage effectively with community members and stakeholders
n
Demonstrated experience in safely handling dogs, including aggressive animals, and cats in both shelter environments and public settings
n
Demonstrated experience in preparing reports and documentation
n
Experience in designing and delivering education programs related to companion animal management (dogs and cats)
n
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
n
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, with minimal supervision
n
Understanding and commitment to WHS and EEO principles
n
Completion of studies in Companion Animal Management, including training in animal control behaviour, and breed identification
n
Experience in Animal Shelter operations, and management of the Companion Animal Register
n
Ability to manage livestock
n
Authorised micro-chip implanter
n
