Job Description
Our client is a large values-focused Federal Government Agency seeking an experienced
Lead Data Analyst (EL1 level)
to deliver complex analysis, reporting and insights across a high-profile risk function.

This is a senior hands-on analytics role combining
SQL, reporting, statistical analysis, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement
. You'll work across regular and ad hoc analytical requests, identify trends and risks, improve reporting governance and translate complex data into meaningful insights for senior stakeholders.

ABOUT THE ROLE n
You'll lead analytical work across a range of operational and strategic risk initiatives, using data to answer complex business questions, identify trends and support evidence-based decision-making.
n
The role also includes improving reporting and quality assurance processes, presenting findings across different forums and mentoring less experienced analysts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES n

Deliver regular,



one-off and ad hoc data analysis across risk-related initiatives.
n
Analyse data and trends to identify risks, issues and opportunities.
n
Develop and improve reporting, governance and quality assurance processes.
n
Translate complex analysis into clear insights and recommendations.
n
Work with business areas to understand objectives, context and performance measures.
n
Present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
n
Support consistent use of data and reporting across the organisation.
n
Mentor and support junior analysts.
n
SELECTION CRITERIA n
n
Strong data analytics capability, particularly
SQL
.
n
Experience with
SAS EG / SAS Viya
highly regarded.
n
Strong data visualisation and statistical analysis skills.
n
Proven problem-solving and critical-thinking capability.
n
Ability to communicate complex insights clearly to wide-ranging audiences.
n
Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills.
n
Fraud analytics
experience highly regarded.
n
Exposure to statistical modelling or machine learning desirable.
