Permanent part time opportunity to play a key role in keeping the hospital connected, providing responsive and courteous switchboard services across a fast-paced 24/7 environment.
About the role n
Permanent part time opportunity to provide a professional and courteous switchboard service to staff and customers of the hospital, ensuring appropriate action and response within suitable timeframes. The Switchboard operates 24 hours per day, seven days a week and is a critical role in communications for the hospital.
About you n
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

Efficiently operate switchboard equipment by responding professionally to all incoming calls to the hospital ensuring that the caller is transferred or redirected correctly and in a timely manner.
n
Perform general administrative duties to contribute to the effective daily operations of the switchboard department.
n
Communicate regularly with all departments of the hospital to maintain accurate and current records for effective switchboard operations.
n
Provide a service to support hospital staff in the allocation, coordination and fault repair of all pager units for the hospital.
n




Operate alternative communication systems to regularly liaise with hospital staff in the event of an emergency or security response situation.
n
Exercise judgment and initiative by identifying emergency situations from incoming calls and respond immediately according to emergency code procedures, strictly adhering to protocols and timeframes.
