The Family Practitioner works within the Child and Family Service and provides a comprehensive home visiting service to pregnant and postnatal women with an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander baby and their families.
The Family Practitioner works to foster a culturally safe, therapeutic relationship with pregnant and postnatal women and to promote high-level engagement and successful program outcomes.

Base Salary:
$105,787 to $113,029 p.a. (RN *******)
What You Need to Succeed
Current registration as a Nurse/ Midwife or AHP with AHPRA, with a minimum of 3 years' relevant clinical experience.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise, negotiate, and resolve conflicts with people from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds.
Demonstrated understanding of the principles of Primary Health Care within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health contexts.
Demonstrated awareness of, and sensitivity to, Aboriginal culture and history, including knowledge of the issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to plan, manage, and prioritise tasks.
Demonstrated high-level computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Word and Excel (or similar), as well as the ability to use clinical practice software.
Demonstrated high standard of written communication skills, including the preparation of detailed reports,
general correspondence, and documentation, with an understanding of confidentiality requirements.
Postgraduate qualifications in Child and Family Health or willingness to complete same.
Experience in working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service or similar complex workplace.

Willing to undergo a Police Check.
Ability and willingness to obtain a Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
Current CPR certificate or the preparedness to gain one within 6 months of commencement.
Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or an exemption as listed on the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) be submitted.
