Job and Tasks n
City West Electrical is seeking a 3rd & 4th Year Apprentice or Newly Qualified Electrician to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to develop their skills, gain practical experience, and work on a variety of electrical services, in the government and commercial sectors. This is a full‐time position based in Tullamarine, where you will work alongside experienced electricians and contribute to the delivery of high‐quality electrical services.

We currently have a vacancy for a fit, honest, reliable, full‐time, 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice or Newly Qualified Electrician to join our team. You will carry out all tasks associated with commercial maintenance in up-to-date buildings, older properties and classified buildings, you will travel across Melbourne, working with different A Grade Electricians on varying sites.

The successful applicant will gain experience by assisting in various tasks and duties, including but not limited to:

Exit and Emergency testing and repairs
n
RCD Testing
n
Servicing/repair work
n
Network cabling – Cat 6
n
AC installations
n
Installation of switchboards
n
Fault finding
n




Maintenance shutdowns (Afterhours)
n
Ordering materials
n
n
In addition to the above, you will be expected to adhere to strict workplace health and safety practices and company policies.

The successful applicant will be a person that possesses the following skills and attributes:

Be highly organised with the ability to work to timelines and to manage multiple and competing priorities

Standard working hours (7:00am – 3:30pm) Regular Overtime available
n
Must be flexible to work overtime, including afterhours shutdown works, and afterhours call‐outs when required.
n
Penalty rates paid for all overtime.

n
Apprentices are required to attend a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), to complete off the job training and study a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electricians.
Ideally hold the following: n
n
Completed or completing a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electricians.
n
Current Victorian Driving Licence
n
Red or White Card
n
Current Police Check
n
Current Working with Children Check
n
EWP
n
n
Note: Police Check and WWCC are not required to apply, however successful applicants must obtain both before commencing work (these cost will be reimbursed).
