Job Description
As our Payroll Officer, you'll manage end-to-end payroll and be a trusted point of contact for employees, managers, Finance and People & Culture.
Key responsibilities n
n
Managing end-to-end payroll processing accurately and within required deadlines
n
Reviewing timesheets, leave, allowances, overtime and deductions
n
Processing new starters, employee changes, terminations and final pays
n
Managing payroll reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
n
Ensuring compliance with Australian payroll legislation, awards, employment agreements, PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation and STP requirements
n
Preparing payroll journals and supporting month-end reconciliations
n
Maintaining accurate employee and payroll records
n
Responding to employee and manager payroll queries
n
Preparing payroll reporting, including leave balances, headcount, superannuation and payroll tax
n
Supporting audits, budgeting and forecasting requirements
n
About you n
n
5+ years' payroll processing experience
n
Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
n
Experience interpreting awards, employment agreements and contracts
n
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
n
Excellent organisation and time-management skills
n
Confidence communicating with employees and managers at all levels
n
Sound judgement when dealing with confidential information
n
A practical, solutions-focused approach to problems
n
A mindset of continuous improvement
