Kinchela BoysHome Aboriginal Corporation (KBHAC) is a not-for-profit, Aboriginal
communitycontrolled
organisation supporting the men who survived the Kinchela Boys Home,and their descendants and families. KBHAC's work addresses the trauma andlasting impacts of
institutionalisation,
and is grounded in
restoration,healing
and cultural integrity.

The Kin Connectprogram sits at the centre of KBHAC's survivor-led support for StolenGenerations Survivors, their descendants and families, coordinating access tohealth, housing, legal, social and community services and
deliveringconnection,
healing, identity and truth-telling activities across the KBHcommunity.
About the Role n
We arecurrently looking for an experienced Kin Connect Case Worker – SEWB (Social andEmotional Wellbeing) to join our team. Key duties will include:
n
n
Provide trauma-informedcasework and case management to KBH Survivors, their descendants and families
n
Provide or arrange referrals tocounselling and other social and emotional wellbeing supports
n
Build and maintain
positiverelationships
with KBHAC teams, KBH Survivors, their families and
externalstakeholders
n
Apply a healing-centred andtrauma-informed approach across all KBHAC activities
n
Support and implement theprinciples of a survivor-led organisation through client engagement and casemanagement
n
Plan and deliver promotion andcommunity education activities and events to raise awareness of SEWB issues
n
Maintain
effectivecommunication
with KBHAC members regarding Kin Connect gatherings andactivities
n
Maintain accurate casemanagement documentation and client records in line with KBHAC policy
n
Attend and participate in teammeetings,



staff planning days, peer development, peer review and
performanceappraisals
n
Attend operational and
clinicalsupervision
as arranged with the Kin Connect Team Leader
n
Requirements n
We are seekinga candidate who:
n
n
Identifies as an Aboriginaland/or Torres Strait Islander person, in accordance with the
genuineoccupational
qualification under section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act ****(NSW), as this is an identified position
n
Has a
demonstratedunderstanding
of the history and effects of the forcible removal of Aboriginaland Torres Strait Islander children, including intergenerational trauma andlateral violence
n
Has demonstrated clinical andcultural competence providing counselling or SEWB support to Aboriginal andTorres Strait Islander people
n
Has experience in social andemotional wellbeing, mental health, trauma, and grief and loss support
n
Has the ability to build andmaintain productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and towork through difficult interactions
n
·Is able to operate autonomouslywith limited direct supervision
n
Holds a Certificate IV inSocial and Emotional Wellbeing (or the closest equivalent nationally
endorsedqualification),
or is working towards this
n
Holds, or can obtain, a currentWorking with Children Check clearance
n
Holds, or can obtain, a currentNational Police Check
n
Holds a current unrestrictedNSW driver's licence
n
n
Highlydesirable:
n
n
Current First Aid certificate
n
n
n
·Fixed term, 0.8 FTE, through tothe end of the financial year, with the possibility of extension subject tofunding
n
