nAbout the Business n
nBenny's Restaurant and Bar is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team on a full-time basis. Benny's Restaurant and Bar is a well-established hospitality venue renowned for its quality food, welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to contribute to a busy commercial kitchen, working alongside a dedicated team to deliver consistently high-quality dining experiences while supporting the productive day-to-day operation of the kitchen. n
n
nRole and Responsibilities include but not limited to: n
n• Ensure food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques are established and monitored. n
n• Research and recommend changes to improve the overall efficiency of the kitchen. n
n• Ensure raw material and kitchen wage costs remain within budget n
n• Coordinate daily food requirements considering delivery times, shelf life and storage capabilities. n
n• Research and recommend changes to improve the overall efficiency of the kitchen n
n• Complete kitchen opening and closing procedures n
n• Report maintenance issues as they arise and ensure equipment is safe to operate. n
n• Maintain a thorough knowledge of Benny's restaurant food and beverage products, as well as an understanding of non-food and beverage products. n
n• Assess the quality of products and the services being delivered by the kitchen n
n• Problem solve escalated customer complaints and queries in conjunction with the
HeadWaiter/Waitress.
n
n• Ensure business revenues are maximized n
n• Manage and lead the kitchen team while reporting to the head Chef n
n• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reporting tasks in a timely and accurate manner n
n• Assess the quality of products and the services being delivered by the kitchen n
n• Effective time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, volume, and deadlines. n
n• Sound knowledge of work health and safety responsibilities and a commitment to Workplace Health and Safety and safe food handling and hygiene. n
n
nQualifications Requirements: n
n• Cert III in Commercial Cookery (Required). n
n• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (Required). n
n• Diploma of Hospitality (Preferred) n
n
nSkills, Attributes and Experience: n
n• Experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry. n
n• The ability to stay calm whilst working under pressure, make appropriate decisions quickly while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude. n
n• Ability to train, communicate and supervise staff effectively n
n• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude. n
n• Ability to work as part of a team and to interact positively with others n
