Job Description

n We're looking for an experienced and motivated
In House Counsel
to join our Legal & Governance Services team.
n
This is a unique opportunity to combine legal skills with operational property servicesin a role that offers variety, challenge and meaningful

Reporting to the Group Manager Legal & Governance
n Services (General Counsel), you'll work alongside a progressive and
n supportive leader who is committed to continuous improvement and delivering
n high-quality services across Council. You'll join a collaborative team that
n values professionalism, innovation, sound judgement and a service-focused
n approach.
n
As the Legal & Property Services Manager, you will:
n
n
Provide practical and
n commercially focused legal advice across planning, property, environmental
n law, procurement, contracts, governance and compliance matters.
n
Draft, review and
n negotiate a range of legal documents, including contracts, deeds, leases,
n licences and other complex agreements.
n
Manage legal matters and
n external legal advisers, while ensuring compliance with relevant
n legislative and regulatory requirements.
n
Lead Council's property
n services function, including land transactions, lease and licence
n management, and the systems that support property operations.
n
Support the General
n Counsel in driving continuous improvement and innovation within the Legal
n & Governance Services team.
n
n
You will bring:
n
n
A law degree and a
n current unrestricted NSW Practising Certificate.
n
At least three years'
n post-admission experience in private practice, local government or an
n in-house legal environment.
n
Experience managing
n property matters, land transactions and related systems, including PEXA.
n
Leadership or
n supervisory experience.
n
Strong
n relationship-building skills and the ability to provide clear, practical
n advice to a broad range of stakeholders.
n
A current Class C Driver
n Licence.

Remuneration and Benefits n
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent 35 hours per week
n
Salary (exclusive of super): Starting in the range of
n $134,858 to $150,948 depending on skills and experience
n
