Bairnsdale Regional Health Service (BRHS) is seekingCasual Health Care Workersto join the Tambo Acute Medical/Surgical Ward to provide dedicated 1:1 support for patients with complex behaviours.
Working alongside nursing and allied health teams, you'll build positive relationships, provide companionship, support patient wellbeing and help create a safe, calm and supportive hospital environment.
The Contract
Multiple Casual contracts
A key requirement of this role is availability to work across 7 days a week and perform a variety of shifts.
The Role
Providededicated 1:1 supportfor patients with complex behaviours
Build trustthrough companionship and meaningful conversation
Support personal care, mobility and daily living activities
Use diversional activities tailored to patient interests, abilities and mood
Recognise changes in behaviour and respond with aperson centred approach
Skills & Experience
Certificate III in Health Services Assistance, Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability Support or equivalent qualification is preferred
Experience in healthcare, aged care or disability support is highly desirable
Compassionate, patient and person-centred approach
Strong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to recognise and appropriately escalte changes in a patient's condition
Current Basic Life Support competency is desirable
