Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 plus 12% superannuation
Our client, Tanpopo Pty Ltd t/a The Bridport Bunker Club, operates a hospitality venue located at 67 Main Street, Bridport, Tasmania, providing food and beverage services to local customers, visitors and tourists.
The business provides a restaurant and dining environment with a focus on quality food, consistent service and efficient kitchen operations.
The business is seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join its hospitality team.
The position is responsible for the preparation and presentation of food to a consistently high standard, supporting efficient kitchen operations and maintaining compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
The Chef will work closely with management and kitchen staff to maintain menu quality, manage food preparation processes, control wastage and ensure that meals are prepared efficiently and consistently in accordance with established standards.
Main responsibilities
Prepare, cook and present dishes to a consistently high standard.
Organise and coordinate daily food preparation and kitchen activities.
Menu planning and the development of new dishes and seasonal menu options.
Maintain food preparation, handling, storage and cleaning practices in accordance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
Monitor the quality, freshness and quantity of ingredients used in food preparation.
Manage portion control and use ingredients efficiently to minimise food wastage.
Inspect kitchen equipment, supplies and work areas to ensure they are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition.




Prepare meals catering for different dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options where required.
Coordinate with management and suppliers regarding ingredient requirements, stock levels and deliveries.
Assist in controlling food costs through effective purchasing, portion control and stock management.
Train, guide and support junior kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen procedures.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment throughout service.
Ensure all food preparation and cooking activities are completed in accordance with relevant health and safety standards.
Required skills and experience
Relevant qualification at the level of a Diploma in Hospitality OR at least Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery AND at least one year of relevant work experience.
One year's experience working as a Chef in a commercial restaurant or hospitality environment.
Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
Ability to prepare a range of dishes consistently and efficiently during busy service periods.
Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
Ability to manage kitchen priorities and work effectively under pressure.
Ability to lead, train and coordinate junior kitchen staff.
Sound knowledge of stock control, ingredient usage and food-cost management.
Ability to cater for special dietary requirements where required.
You must be a reliable, organised, hard‐working and well‐mannered individual with a solid work ethic, attention to detail and the ability to work cooperatively in a busy kitchen environment.
