Job Description
Our Client, Sandhu & Chouhan Produce is seeking an experienced and motivated Nursery Person to join our established horticultural farming operation in Bucca, NSW. n
n
nTasks Include: n
n
n• Prepare soil and growing areas, including applying fertilisers and organic matter and maintaining appropriate drainage. n
n• Select and plant suitable seeds, seedlings, bulbs and cuttings in growing beds and containers. n
n• Prepare potting media, growing beds and containers for planting. n
n• Plant crops at appropriate spacing and depth and undertake ongoing plant maintenance. n
n• Carry out pruning, de-budding, tipping and other plant maintenance activities. n
n• Perform plant propagation activities, including grafting plants onto suitable rootstock where required. n
n• Operate and monitor irrigation systems to maintain appropriate water levels for plant growth. n
n• Monitor plants for pests, diseases, weeds and other health issues and undertake appropriate treatment and control measures. n
n• Apply fertilisers,



pesticides and herbicides safely and in accordance with workplace procedures. n
n• Maintain records relating to planting, soil mixtures, treatments, plant losses and crop yields. n
n• Maintain nursery and growing areas in a clean, safe and productive condition. n
n
nQualifications and Skills: n
n
n• Diploma-level qualification in Horticulture or a relevant field. n
n• Minimum 2 year of relevant full time experience as a Nursery Person or in a closely related horticultural role. n
n• Good knowledge of plant propagation, establishment and maintenance. n
n• Practical knowledge of irrigation, fertilisation, pest and disease control. n
n• Ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions. n
n• Good attention to detail and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. n
n• Commitment to safe and environmentally responsible horticultural practices. n
n
nSalary- $75,000 - $85,000 per year
