About The Role n
We are seeking a full-time person to join our Brookvale team in a combined role, serving customers on the retail floor and fulfilling online orders from our mail order department, which dispatches to customers right across the country.
n
This is a single full-time position working across two departments at our Brookvale site: retail and mail order. Your 38 hours are guaranteed; the split between departments will vary with store and order volumes.
n
If you have boating and sailing knowledge, are practical and have an enthusiastic personality, we would like to hear from you.
Duties Involve: On the retail floor: n
n
Providing friendly and courteous service to our customers over the phone and in person
n
Cash register and customer service desk operation
n




Taking orders & providing quotes
n
Providing advice on marine products in our retail store
n
Store merchandising and housekeeping
n
In our mail order department: n
n
Picking stock accurately for online orders
n
Packing orders securely for courier transit
n
Printing labels and processing consignments
n
Keeping the pack area tidy, stocked and organised
n
Flagging stock shortfalls or order issues to the team
n
Skills Required: n
n
Punctual and reliable with a robust work ethic
n
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
n
High attention to detail while showing pride in your work - the right item, in the right box, every time
n
The ability to stand or be on your feet for long periods
n
Physically fit and able to move heavy products and/or bulky goods
n
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to tasks and workload
n
Comfortable switching between serving customers and working through the order queue
n
About the Position: n
n
You will be working a 38-hour week rostered over 5 of our 7 trading days.
n
Your time will be split between the retail floor and our mail order department, depending on store and order volumes.
n
Above award conditions and pay.
n
There is scope for advancement to a retail management role for the right candidate.
n
Previous retail experience is preferred but not essential.
n
