A long-established Sydney manufacturer that works to tight tolerances needs experienced CNC Machinists to strengthen its evening shift, with multiple positions to fill.
The employer wants people who can take ownership from day one by setting up, programming and running the CNC equipment they already know, across a blend of production batches and prototypes for clients in construction, defence, infrastructure, manufacturing and the oil and gas sector.
Setting and operating account for 70% of the job, so confidence at the machine matters most.
Experience on any make of CNC machine will be considered, and the business will build the role around the successful applicant.
This role is open to applicants already in Australia with work rights, and the employer will consider visa sponsorship for the right candidate.

Program, set up and operate CNC mills, CNC lathes and a sliding head lathe, along with other CNC machines
Ready tools, work holdings and jobs for the different machining centres,



and design work holdings for prototype and production runs
Inspect and measure manufactured parts at the final stage
Deliver production work mixed with prototype work for manufacturing, oil & gas, construction, defence and infrastructure customers
4+ years as a machinist or CNC machinist, including 4+ years of recent experience programming and setting CNC machines
Confidence setting and operating CNC machines, which represents 70% of the role
Fitting and Turning qualification or an equivalent
Background programming with CAM software
Solid computer skills and experience interpreting engineering documents and drawings
Hungry to learn and progress
An A++ work ethic and a genuine team player who never treats a task as "not my job"
Capable of working independently and as part of the team
Candidates must have the right to work in Australia
Desirable: CAD-CAM proficiency
Desirable: Fusion360 proficiency
