About the job Are you a new graduate Occupational Therapist looking to join a team that truly values, celebrates, and nurtures your skills?
Come and join our passionate and growing team at RiverRun Paediatric Therapy services!
We are a community based private practice providing occupational therapy supports to children, young people, and their families in the beautiful Macedon Ranges and surrounds.
Practicing in the Macedon Ranges gives our team the scope and flexibility to practice in the way that best suits them and their clients... inside in one of our three clinic spaces, in homes, schools/kindergartens, in cafes/gyms/swimming pools, or out in nature.
We are often found at local parks, ovals, and nature reserves, and it is stunning to watch the seasons change through the year!
Our Team at RiverRun are motivated, community minded, tight-knit, and we value diversity, balance, fun, integrity, and creative innovation.
We currently have 6 occupational therapists, two allied health assistants, and two administration support team members.
In ****, RiverRun has been developing exciting new clinical programs, further developing community relationships, planning for the future of our OTs so that we can successfully navigate the upcoming NDIS changes and Thriving Kids Program, and creating professional development projects for our team that we have all enjoyed being a part of.
In **** we are very excited for our Current Graduate Program so that we can expand our team and add your skills and passion projects to our list.
How will your time be spent?
Working with a varied case load from ages 18 months-19 years.
This ensures that you receive a broad range of experiences on a daily basis.
Work activities are kept within work hours, so that you have time for all of the other things that make you happy Your work days can be arranged as suits you, with flexible start and finish hours.
For some, this may also include starting part time while you settle into work life You will have an excellent balance of billable hours to other activities that promotes a focus on quality service provision, team building, and personal/professional development.
This way,



you will be able to really develop your own unique style and interests as a therapist, and love the work that you do.
You have the prospect for your development time to be spent as work from home, if this is how you work best.
Your therapeutic supports will include a combination of individual, pairs, and group supports.
You will be involved in the development of group programs for children, young people, and families, as well as development of community connections.
You will spend time with clients and the team across the three clinic rooms in Woodend (which are next door), and in the community Time with the team You will have ongoing opportunities to co-work in individual sessions with colleagues to support your learning as needed You will also be co-working together in group programs Every term you will be part of in-house PD days, so that we can share our learning together Every year you will be part of whole team external PD and team development The team come together to celebrate the personal and professional milestones of each other We build in connection time during work days and outside of work so that we get to know and support each other as people, and laughter happens on the daily.
You will be working in a team where a sense of belonging is important and is fostered every day in the way we structure our time and the way we show up for work every day.
You will be working with a team and leadership that cares about you as a person, and will nurture your development and well-being in all that we do.

Getting started The new graduate program begins with a period of co-working with colleagues while you learn the ropes of the organisation There is a slow build-up of your caseload so that you can take your time getting to know the children, young people, and their families As part of the new graduate program you will choose your caseload with your mentor so that there is a balance of client support needs that you can feel confident are within your skill level to support You can start the role full time, or you can begin part time if this is what you need to settle into your career after study.
Resources available to you Access to our online portal with resources and templates, including shared learning and communication with your colleagues.
All therapeutic resources and assessment tools are provided A phone, laptop and iPad are provided to you Travel allowance Generous annual budget for external PD opportunities Admin support to help you find your feet with our processes, calendars, and scheduling.
Your director is still working in the field, so is staying up to date with clinical knowledge and policy, and is using the same practice systems as you on a daily basis Colleagues that have just finished their recent graduate year, so they understand your experience and can support you through it Connection to other providers and care teams throughout our well established community connections and referral pathways Mentoring We have an open door mentoring policy, which means that you can approach your mentor for support any time Your colleagues are available every day for debrief and support You will have twice-weekly mentoring with an experienced therapist (yup, two times a week) so that there is enough time to explore your caseload experiences as well as developing your clinical learning.
There are opportunities for regular mentoring with peers so that we can learn together Individualised learning goals are set and monitored throughout the year.
These goals will focus on your clinical knowledge, professional skills, wellbeing, and personal development Learning modules that are delivered on a regular basis that have been designed to support the new graduate experience in private paediatrics.
