Role Summary
Responsibilities
: As a Financial Accountant at Costello Medical, you will play a key role in enhancing our financial reporting and accounting processes (playing a leading key role in US accounting) to support the ongoing growth and development of our Finance team
Salary
: From £50,000 per annum, depending on your qualifications and previous experience.
Candidates with post-qualification working experience may be offered a higher salary

About the Role
As a Financial Accountant at Costello Medical, you will play a key role in shaping and managing the accounting and tax landscape for our rapidly growing US and Canadian entities in Boston and Vancouver, whilst also supporting accounting across the rest of the group (UK, Singapore, China, Australia).
This is a high-impact, internationally focused role where you will take ownership of US financial accounting while also contributing to global controllership and process improvements.
The role blends technical accounting, tax awareness, and process improvement, with the opportunity to shape the role as the company grows.
Key responsibilities will include:
Own the US accounting function, including month-end close, group audit support, US tax reporting, and other relevant US-wide filings
Manage sub-group consolidations and ensure accurate, timely reporting across US and other entities within the group
Oversee US tax activities, including estimated payments and coordination with external tax advisers for tax return preparation and compliance
Contributing to cash flow forecasting, financial planning and risk analysis
Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, prepayments, and accruals
Ensuring proper intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and invoicing in a multinational context
Maintaining accurate general ledger records and support multi-entity reporting
Assist with year-end close, internal and external audits, and ongoing compliance activities
Collaborate with global teams and external advisors to implement process improvements and change initiatives
Our standard working week is 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, but we can also consider applications from those seeking a part-time arrangement of 30 hours/4 days per week.

About You
This position is designed for recently qualified or near-qualified accountants who are keen to develop in technical accounting, tax compliance and controllership activities, with potential for future line-management responsibilities.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, and ambitious individual who enjoys owning accounting processes, improving workflows, and working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
You should be comfortable taking on a varied role that intersects accounting, tax, and internal controls, with a mindset for continuous improvement.
Whether you're moving from practice to industry or seeking to advance within the finance function, this role supports your professional development.
Essential requirements for the role are:
Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, US CPA, or equivalent), either recently qualified or close to completing qualification
Excellent numerical and analytical skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build robust and sustainable working relationships
Exceptional organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
An ability to plan, prioritise, and manage multiple deadlines effectively
An eagerness to master new systems and understand company processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Desired Requirements for this role are:
Proven post-qualification working experience
Understanding of US GAAP; familiarity with IFRS or other frameworks is a plus
Knowledge or experience with US tax compliance and tax reporting
External Audit experience (as auditor or in an audited environment)
Experience in a multinational environment and working with foreign rules and entities
Experience with change management and process improvement initiatives
International experience (particularly Singapore, China, Australia or Canada) is advantageous
Interest in and willingness to engage in broader tax and controllership activities
