Orange Aboriginal Medical Service (OAMS) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated
Casual Yiriyirimbang Support Worker
to support children, young people and families involved with the Yiriyirimbang Program.
n
This is a rewarding prospect to make a meaningful difference by supporting children and families, facilitating family time, mentoring young people, and helping strengthen connections to culture, community and family.
About the Role
n
As a Yiriyirimbang Support Worker, you will:
n
n
Safely transport children and families to appointments, family time visits, school, extracurricular activities and other required locations.
n
Supervise and facilitate Family Time visits.
n
Role model positive parenting skills and techniques.
n
Complete accurate observation and Family Time reports.
n
Support children and young people to achieve their individual goals.
n
Work closely with Case Managers and the broader Yiriyirimbang team.
n
Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
n
Report any child protection concerns in line with mandatory reporting requirements.
n
Assist with general case management and administrative tasks as required.
n
About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
An understanding of NSW Child Protection legislation, Mandatory Reporting requirements and Out of Home Care services.
n
Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
n
Experience working with Aboriginal children, young people, families and communities.
n
A current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
n
The ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and school holidays.
n
A genuine commitment to supporting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
n
Essential Requirements

Current NSW Driver Licence.
n
Current NSW Working with Children Check.
n

The successful applicant will be required to:

Undertake and pass a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check
n
Complete a pre-employment wellness check (including drug and alcohol screening)

Hold or obtain a NSW Working with Children Check
