Your first year as a physiotherapist should be about
learning, developing your clinical skills and building confidence
— not being handed a full caseload and expected to work everything out yourself.

We have designed our graduate program around what new physiotherapists actually need during their first year.

Your first year includes:

Two weeks of structured onboarding, training and shadowing
experienced clinicians.

Weekly one-on-one mentoring
with an experienced Physiotherapist.
n
Dedicated education and training specifically for our new graduates.
n
Fortnightly Physiotherapy professional development
with the wider physio team.
n
Regular case discussions and clinical reasoning sessions.
n
Access to experienced senior clinicians for support throughout your working week.
n
Guest education and training from experienced clinicians and industry experts.
n
$1,000 external professional development allowance
.
n
Start alongside other **** graduates and progress through your first year together.

Your learning time is protected.
Mentoring, professional development and graduate training are booked into your diary in advance so your development doesn't have to compete with your caseload.
A Caseload That Grows With You n
We don't expect a new graduate to perform like an experienced Physiotherapist from day one.
n
Your caseload will be built gradually during your first few months, allowing you time to consolidate your assessment, treatment planning, communication and clinical reasoning skills.
n
As your confidence and experience increase, your caseload will progressively develop towards the expectations of an experienced community Physiotherapist.
n
You will always have senior clinicians available to discuss more complex clients and help you determine the next step.

older Australians in their own homes and communities

Rehabilitation following hospital admission

Neurological rehabilitation

Chronic disease management

Pain management

Education and self-management

Working collaboratively with families, carers and other health professionals

Rather than seeing clients in isolation, community physiotherapy allows you to understand their home environment, their goals and the barriers affecting their everyday function.
