Infrastructure Solution Architect – Brisbanen
Your New Company: Join the largest city council as part of a major digital infrastructure transformation program. You will work within a large and complex technology environment, contributing to the modernisation of critical network, security, cloud and infrastructure services while helping shape a resilient and future-focused digital ecosystem.
Your New Role:n
As the Infra Solution Architect, you will provide strategic and technical leadership across network modernisation and infrastructure transformation initiatives. Working across key infrastructure programs, you will assess current-state network capabilities, develop future-state architectures, define transition strategies, and establish technology roadmaps, standards and governance frameworks. This is a hands‐on architecture position requiring you to operate effectively at both strategic and technical levels.
Key responsibilities will include:n
n
Developing current-state and future-state enterprise network architectures.
n
Leading network modernisation strategy, architecture frameworks and technology roadmaps.
n
Designing complex network, security and cloud connectivity solutions.
n
Developing architectures for core networking, Internet-first environments, Zero Trust networking and secure access.
n
Producing high‐level and detailed solution designs for routing, Internet edge, Zscaler, Azure hybrid connectivity, network segmentation and resilience.
n
Undertaking assessments across WAN, Internet connectivity, routing, Zscaler, secure access, monitoring and observability.
n
Developing technology standards, reference architectures, design principles and architecture decision records.
n
Providing architecture assurance, governance and technical leadership across network modernisation projects.
n
Reviewing implementation plans and providing design validation and engineering guidance.
n




Supporting Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents where specialist architecture expertise is required.
n
Working closely with Security, Cloud, Infrastructure, Operations and Engineering teams.
n
Providing technical mentoring and helping uplift capability across network engineering teams.
n
What you will need to succeed:n
n
Strong hands‐on experience across enterprise networking, infrastructure and cyber security.
n
Proven experience designing solutions within large and complex digital infrastructure environments.
n
Robust knowledge of enterprise routing, WAN, Internet connectivity and core network architecture.
n
Experience with Zscaler, secure access architectures and network security.
n
Experience designing Azure hybrid connectivity and cloud‐integrated network solutions.
n
Strong understanding of Zero Trust, network segmentation, security zoning and resilient network design.
n
Experience across public, private and hybrid cloud platforms.
n
Knowledge of data centres, compute, storage, fibre, connectivity, monitoring and observability technologies.
n
Strong understanding of cyber security controls, identity and access management, disaster recovery and business continuity.
n
