What role will you play?

You will work closely with product and delivery leaders and will be responsible for the end-to-end technology of a core platform.
You will take ownership of products in iterative cycles from architecture and design through to development, testing, and operations.
You will be accountable for defining and executing the engineering strategy, technical roadmap, and processes, including CI/CD, production support, and continual process improvement.
You will foster and nurture an cutting-edge and inclusive engineering culture that encourages lateral thinking and early risk escalation while taking a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
A key part of your role will be to attract, coach, develop and retain industry leading engineers, building a strong and effective leadership team and team composition including succession plan for all critical leadership roles.




You will also engage with and be expected to maintain strong working relationships with architects and senior business stakeholders to understand and influence the business and technology strategies.

Proven Engineering Leadership: Extensive experience leading, coaching, and developing software engineering managers and teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Strategic & Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of modern engineering practices, with experience in defining a clear technical strategy, owning a long-term technical roadmap, and making high-level technology and platform choices that align with the strategic vision.
You have a track record of designing, implementing, and operating mission-critical, large-scale platforms.
Cloud Experience: Proficiency in cloud-based technologies (such as AWS or Google Cloud) with experience in managing infrastructure, site reliability engineering (SRE) practices, and disaster recovery strategies.
Operational Excellence: A passion for achieving operational excellence at scale, resulting in highly available, secure, and cost-effective production systems with robust incident response capabilities.
Collaborative Leader: A collaborative and communicative leader, able to build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels, align technology with business strategy, and advocate for the engineering organisation's needs.
Agile Mindset: Passionate about building and managing scalable, maintainable, and high-performing platforms using agile methodologies and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
