nJain Carpentry Co. is a construction and building services company specialising in the installation of lightweight steel framing systems, together with the fitting and installation of doors, windows and associated building components. n
n
nWe are seeking a competent and committed Carpenter, specialising in all aspects of carpentry, to join our dynamic team n
n
nYou will be responsible for carrying out a range of construction and installation activities in accordance with building plans, specifications, project requirements and workplace safety standards. n
n
nKey duties (not limited to) will include: n
n• Reading and interpreting building plans, drawings, specifications and measurements to determine materials, dimensions and installation procedures. n
n• Setting out and accurately measuring work areas in accordance with plans and specifications. n
n• Installing and erecting lightweight steel wall and ceiling frames using appropriate tools, fasteners, brackets and fixings. n
n• Cutting, shaping, assembling and securing framing components to required dimensions. n
n• Checking frames and structures for correct levels, plumb, alignment, dimensions and overall workmanship. n
n• Installing wall frames, partitions, openings and other structural or non-structural building components. n
n• Preparing openings and fitting doors and windows into wall frames. n




n• Installing and adjusting door and window frames, including associated components such as hinges, handles, locks and other fittings where required. n
n• Fixing doors, windows, frames, trims and associated building products using appropriate tools and fastening systems. n
n• Undertaking general carpentry, fixing and finishing work associated with construction projects. n
n• Working with a range of materials, including lightweight steel, timber, plasterboard, wallboard and other building products. n
n• Measuring, cutting and fitting materials accurately to minimise waste and ensure quality finishes. n
n• Using hand and power tools safely and appropriately. n
n• Identifying and rectifying defects, alignment issues and installation problems. n
n• Working cooperatively with builders, supervisors, other trades and project personnel to meet construction schedules. n
n• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area. n
n• Following all relevant workplace health and safety requirements, building standards and company procedures. n
n
nEssential Requirements n
n1. Relevant AQF Certificate III in Carpentry and Building Construction field. n
n2. In absence of formal qualifications, must have at least 3 years or more verifiable work experience as a Carpenter. n
n3. Current Victorian white card. n
n4. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. n
n5. Physical fitness and the ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and working at heights. n
n6. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. n
n7. Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints. n
n
nDo not apply if you do not have full working rights and an AQF Cert III level qualification with at least 1 year of full-time verifiable work experience as a Carpenter.
