Job Description
We manufacture equipment that sieves, dries and moves powders and granules. Our customers are in the food, pharmaceutical, mining, and recycling sectors.
n
We're a privately owned manufacturer with fewer than 20 people, and most of our team have been with us for a long time.
The Hours and Pay
n
25 hours per week: 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday
n
$38 to $43 per hour plus super, depending on experience (equivalent to $75,000 to $85,000 full-time)
n
Permanent part-time role with paid leave and super
n
If different start or finish times would suit you better, or you'd like more hours in the future, let us know
When You Apply
n
Please include a few lines answering this question: Tell us about a time a supplier let you down and what you did about it.
What You'll Do
n
Raise purchase orders and work orders in our ERP system, Sybiz, and follow them through to delivery
n
Monitor stock levels and reorder before supplies run low
n
Speak with suppliers about pricing, lead times and late deliveries
n
Receipt goods against orders and resolve price or quantity discrepancies with our accounts team
n
Track overseas shipments with freight forwarders and customs brokers, and keep the paperwork in order
n
Keep production, engineering and sales teams informed about incoming deliveries
n
We build custom equipment, so much of what we buy is specific to a job. Our engineers will provide transparent parts lists for each project. You don't need to read engineering drawings.
What We're Looking For
n
Two things matter most to us:
n
Purchasing experience: at least two years of raising orders, dealing with suppliers, and keeping stock moving. Experience in manufacturing, engineering, wholesale or trade supply is all relevant.
n
A good attitude: you're reliable, work well with others, and ask questions when something doesn't look right.
n
You'll need the right to work in Australia
n
If you have either of these, please mention it:
n
Imports and exports: experience dealing with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping documentation
n
Stock management: experience setting minimum stock levels and reorder points, and managing supplier minimum order quantities and values
What We Can Teach You
n
Sybiz: if you've used any ERP or accounting system for purchasing, you'll pick it up quickly
n
Imports: if you haven't handled overseas shipments before, we'll show you how
n
Our products and suppliers: the person who has managed purchasing here for years is staying with the business and will train you
n
If you have most of this experience but not all of it, please apply anyway.
Working in a Small Team
n
You'll work directly with the Managing Director, and if you see a better way of doing something, we want to hear it
n
We work as a team. Occasionally that means covering for each other, and the team will do the same for you
