The Role n
We are currently seeking a driven and committed Law Clerk to join our Criminal Law team in our Taree office.
n
Working closely with our criminal lawyer, your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Assisting solicitors with the day-to-day conduct and preparation of criminal law matters;
n
Undertaking legal research and assisting with the preparation of correspondence, court documents, briefs and other client materials;
n
Attending to court filing and other court-related requirements;
n
Liaising with courts, clients and other relevant parties as required;
n
General administration, including digital and physical filing, maintaining accurate database and file records, and daily reporting;
n
Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of briefs, court materials and matter files; and
n




Providing general legal and administrative support and attending to other reasonable work-related requests from solicitors and senior lawyers.

About You n
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have the following skills/experience:
n
n
Be currently enrolled in a law degree;
n
Have an interest in criminal law and a genuine desire to develop practical legal experience;
n
Have strong research, planning and organisational skills;
n
Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and accuracy;
n
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
n
Be self-motivated and willing to take initiative;
n
Have the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team; and
n
Be able to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
