Job Description
Ignite have partnered with a global engineering and industrial solutions organisation who are seeking an experienced Dry Gas Seal (DGS) Supervisor to lead refurbishment and testing operations within a service centre environment. This position is responsible for overseeing a technical team, ensuring safe and efficient workflows, maintaining quality standards, and providing technical expertise related to dry gas seal systems.
Key Responsibilities n
n
Lead and oversee all Dry Gas Seal refurbishment, assembly, and testing activities.
n
Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and quality procedures.
n
Maintain calibration and certification requirements for testing equipment and tooling.
n
Review, approve, and manage inspection reports and testing documentation.
n
Support the design, specification, and procurement of new testing equipment.
n
Train and mentor team members on calibration software, testing methodologies, and dry gas seal operation.
n
Provide technical guidance for assembly challenges, operational issues, and test failures.
n
Review and approve test results and technical documentation.
n
Manage day-to-day operation of DGS testing facilities, including customer-facing testing activities.
n
Deliver technical support and problem-solving assistance to customers.
n
Initiate and review engineering drawing updates and technical change requests.
n
Assess general arrangement drawings for compatibility and interchangeability requirements.
n
Present technical product information and best practices to team members.
n
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other support departments to resolve technical issues.
n
Support machining-related activities where required.
n
Provide emergency and critical site support when operational demands arise.
n
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the service centre.

Coordination of DGS planning, assembly, refurbishment, and testing activities.

Maintaining workflow efficiency and operational performance.
n
Working closely with internal departments to ensure timely execution of repair and service processes.
n
Driving quality control and compliance throughout all DGS-related operations.

Requirments n
n
n
Diploma, engineering degree, or relevant trade/technical qualification.
n
Minimum five years' experience in a technical industrial environment, preferably within a multinational business.
n
Experience using ERP systems, particularly SAP or similar platforms.
n
Knowledge of lapping and polishing processes.
n
Strong leadership and people management capability.
n
Comprehensive understanding of rotating equipment, mechanical seals, or similar industrial products.
n
Ability to develop, mentor, and support technical teams.
n
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
n
