This six-month contract offers an excellent opportunity to gain further government experience, with potential for extension.
The Position: As the Financial Accountant, you will take ownership of key financial accounting and month-end activities.
Your responsibilities will include: Providing advice on financial accounting matters, policies, guidelines and systems Supporting month-end processes including journals, bank reconciliations and accruals Assisting with the preparation and review of financial reports Managing accounting requirements relating to fixed asset acquisitions and disposals Reviewing financial data and investigating discrepancies Supporting finance projects and data migration activities as required Benefits:

You will ideally have: Robust technical financial accounting skills Experience with journals, reconciliations, accruals and financial reporting Strong Excel skills and the ability to work with large volumes of data Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines Experience working within a large or complex organisation ERP systems experience, with SAP highly regarded CPA/CA qualifications or progress towards qualification will be advantageous Previous Queensland Government experience will be highly regarded; however, candidates coming from a commercial environment with strong financial accounting experience are also encouraged to apply.
