About The Role n
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide person-centred, recovery-focused support tailored to each participant's goals, strengths, and individual support needs.
n
This role involves supporting participants to build independence, increase community engagement, develop daily living skills, and enhance overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities n
n
Provide emotional, practical, and recovery-oriented support to people living with psychosocial disability
n
Support participants with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, and routine building
n
Assist participants to engage with their community, attend appointments, and achieve personal goals
n




Implement individual support plans in collaboration with participants, families, and multidisciplinary care teams
n
Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and incident reporting in line with organisational and NDIS requirements
n
Promote participant dignity, choice, independence, and social inclusion
n
Work collaboratively with allied health professionals, support coordinators, families, and other stakeholders
n
Contribute to a secure, respectful, and strengths-based support environment
n
Participate in ongoing professional development and reflective practice
n
About You n
We are looking for individuals who are empathetic, adaptable, and passionate about mental health and recovery-focused support.
Essential Requirements n
n
Certificate IV in Mental Health, Community Services, Peer Work, Disability, AOD, or a related field OR
n
Demonstrated equivalent industry experience within mental health, psychosocial disability, or community support settings
n
Experience supporting individuals with mental health challenges, psychosocial disability, or complex behaviours
n
Confidence supporting participants with personal care and daily living assistance
n
Strong communication,



interpersonal, and documentation skills
n
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
n
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including shorter shifts when required
n
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
n
Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
n
Current First Aid & CPR certification
n
Valid Australian Driver's Licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle
n
Highly Regarded n
n
Lived experience of mental health recovery or caring for someone with mental health difficulties
n
Understanding of recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centred practice
n
Mental Health First Aid certification
n
Experience supporting individuals with behaviours of concern and restrictive practices
n
Students currently studying Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Occupational Therapy, or related disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply, as this role provides valuable practical experience that complements your studies
