About NAPCo
The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading beef cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares, largest single herd in the world and home to Five Founders Beef. NAPCo employs approximately 220 staff operating across Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 15 cattle stations, a Depot in Mount Isa, a Feedlot and Farm in the Darling Downs and an office in Brisbane's CBD.

About the team
Based in Brisbane and reporting to the General Manager - Natural Capital, you will partner closely with station and corporate teams to deliver NAPCo's Rangeland Program across our 15 properties throughout Queensland and the Northern Territory.

The role
This hands-on technical role supports the protection, improvement and long-term productivity of NAPCo's land and natural capital assets. You will deliver rangeland monitoring, spatial analysis and biodiversity initiatives that provide practical insights for grazing management, seasonal planning, environmental stewardship and commercial decision-making.

Day to day duties include:

- Work with operational teams to deliver biomass reporting, land condition assessments, pasture measurement, ground-truthing of remote sensing and feed-on-offer forecasting.
- Prepare monthly reporting and analysis to support grazing management, stocking and seasonal planning decisions.
- Update property maps and undertake spatial analysis, including water-circle grazing radius, land type and carrying-capacity assessments.
- Identify, design and support weed monitoring and control programs, including relevant government funding, rebate and grant opportunities.
- Enhance monitoring to incorporate biodiversity metrics and assist with biodiversity and natural capital initiatives.
- Support environmental compliance through accurate data collection, process development and practical technical advice.
- Assess and introduce technologies that improve the efficiency, consistency and accuracy of field data collection and monitoring.





Ideally the successful candidate will have/be:

- A degree in agriculture, sustainability, environmental science or a similar field, combined with experience in the pastoral industry and at least one year's experience in a similar or relevant role.
- A current manual driver's licence and willingness to travel frequently to remote properties and work outdoors.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage priorities, coordinate field activities and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across operational, corporate and external stakeholder groups.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, sound business acumen and attention to detail.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with pasture measurement, land condition assessment, biodiversity monitoring or environmental data collection.
- GIS proficiency and a relevant university qualification are highly regarded.
