An prospect for an Employment Law Associate to join an established and highly regarded Sydney practice.
This role offers exposure to a broad range of employment and industrial relations matters, working with an impressive client base across the corporate and government sectors. The successful candidate will join a collaborative, down-to-earth team with a strong focus on delivering practical, commercially minded advice and building lasting client relationships.
The Role
Working alongside experienced senior practitioners, the successful candidate will be involved in a varied mix of advisory and contentious employment and industrial relations work, including:
- Advising on complex employment issues, workplace grievances, investigations and employee terminations.
- Acting in unfair dismissal, general protections, discrimination and other employment-related disputes.
- Advising on industrial relations matters, enterprise agreements and workplace strategy.
- Managing matters and developing strong relationships with clients across a range of industries.
- Supporting clients through sensitive workplace issues and complex litigation.
- Contributing to business development initiatives, client presentations and thought leadership.
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 3-5 years’ post-qualification experience in employment and industrial relations law.
- Experience gained within private practice.
- Strong technical expertise across employment law, workplace relations and litigation.
- The ability to manage matters independently while working collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills, sound commercial judgement and a practical approach to problem-solving.
- Experience acting for local, state or federal government clients would be highly regarded.
