ASSOCIATE PRODUCERPerth Festival | Fixed Term | Full Time | Perth, WA

Perth Festival is your summer invitation to otherworldly experiences. We’re a not-for-profit multi-arts festival that brings world class performance, music, film, visual arts and literary events to Perth, Western Australia, every summer. As Australia’s longest-running arts festival, we’ve spent more than 70 years celebrating Perth, its people and its culture on the shores of the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River).

We’re looking for an Associate Producer to help bring our most ambitious projects to life, from the first conversations with artists right through to opening night and the final acquittal.

About the role

Reporting to the Senior Producer in our Programming & Producing team, you’ll support the delivery of complex artistic projects, productions and commissions across the Festival program. You’ll keep the moving parts in order, including logistics, artist services, contracts, schedules and budgets, so that every project runs smoothly and every artist has a great experience with us.

What you’ll be doing

As the role will be working mostly on delivery of our Sanctum series across saint Mary’s and Government house ballroom, as well as some other shows, you’ll:

1. Coordinate schedules, milestones and operational requirements for major Festival projects, productions and commissions
2. Act as a key point of contact for artists, creative teams and project stakeholders
3. Arrange artist travel, accommodation, hospitality and local logistics
4. Support artist onboarding and Festival inductions
5. Prepare contracts, agreements and project documentation, and track approvals and deliverables

Alongside this, you’ll support the wider producing team by:

1. Assisting with project budgets, purchase orders,

invoices and expense claims
2. Keeping project files, databases and records accurate and up to date
3. Supporting reporting and acquittal requirements
4. Working with our Production, Marketing, Development, Operations and Ticketing teams to keep information flowing
5. Helping with project risk assessments and promoting safe work practices
6. Providing on-the-ground support during rehearsals, installations, opening nights and Festival events

What you’ll bring

1. Experience in arts administration, producing, project coordination or festival delivery
2. A proven ability to coordinate complex projects with many stakeholders
3. Experience working with artists, creative practitioners or cultural organisations
4. Strong organisational and time management skills, with a sharp eye for detail
5. Excellent written and verbal communication, and robust relationship skills
6. The ability to stay calm under pressure, adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines

It’s a bonus if you have a qualification in Arts Management, Producing, Event Management, Performing Arts or a related field, or experience with artist logistics, project budgets or contract administration in a festival, performing arts or cultural organisation.

Why join Perth Festival

You’ll be part of a small team that punches well above its weight, working alongside the best artists from here and everywhere else on one of the country’s most-loved cultural events. It’s hybrid, it’s Perth-based, and no two Festival seasons are quite the same.

To apply, submit your resume and a short cover letter outlining your producing and project coordination experience. Please tell us whether you’re interested in the full time or part time position, or both.

We reserve the right to commence shortlisting immediately.
