Senior Accountant | Tax & Business Services
Salary: $100,000–$120,000 + superannuation
Location: East Brisbane, QLD
Work style: Permanent full-time | One WFH day per week after onboarding | Flexible start and finish times

This Senior Accountant position combines hands-on accounting and compliance work with tax research and drafting advice. It offers an opportunity to understand the issues behind the accounts, discuss technical questions with experienced colleagues and contribute to practical client outcomes.

The Role
Work across accounting, taxation and business services, preparing accurate files through to review stage and supporting Managers and Partners on technical matters.

Responsibilities include:

- Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, sole traders, companies, trusts and SMSFs
- Preparing detailed working papers and supporting reconciliations
- Completing BAS and state tax returns, including payroll tax and land tax where required
- Researching tax issues and drafting advice for Manager and Partner review
- Liaising with the ATO, state revenue authorities, clients and other professionals
- Following up information and responding to client queries
- Managing deadlines and keeping colleagues informed of progress and outstanding matters
- Using MYOB AE, Xero and Excel across client work

What You’ll Bring

- At least four years’ experience in an Australian public practice accounting firm
- Accounting degree from an Australian institution
- CA or CPA completed or underway
- Strong technical foundations across Australian accounting and taxation
- Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns across multiple entity types
- Working knowledge of MYOB AE, Xero and Excel
- Clear communication skills and a skilled approach to client relationships
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines
- Interest in tax research and a commitment to continued learning
