Step up into leadership with William Adams.
We’re looking for an experienced Team Leader to join our Clayton workshop and lead a team of skilled technicians working on Caterpillar equipment, with a strong focus on major rebuild and repair work.
This is a hands-on leadership role where your technical experience and ability to get the best from people will make a real difference. You’ll coordinate daily workflow, support your team, drive performance and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the high standards expected of Caterpillar.
With a strong focus on rebuilds, you’ll help lead the team through complex work where planning, technical expertise and attention to detail are critical. It’s an prospect to step into leadership while staying closely connected to the technical side of the job.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Service Supervisor, you’ll provide day-to-day leadership to the Clayton workshop team, helping ensure rebuild, repair and maintenance work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the high standards expected of Caterpillar.
Your responsibilities will include:
Lead and support a team of skilled technicians and apprentices across rebuild, repair and maintenance work
Coordinate daily workflow and monitor work in progress to meet agreed targets
Drive workshop productivity, labour utilisation and rebuild performance
Provide technical guidance and support with complex rebuilds and problem-solving
Work closely with the Rebuild Specialist to manage priorities and scheduling
Promote a strong safety culture and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Ensure work is completed to Caterpillar and William Adams quality standards
Support the performance, development and training of technicians and apprentices
ABOUT YOU
You’re a confident and practical leader who knows how to get the best from a team. You’ll bring strong technical experience, a positive approach and the ability to keep things moving in a busy workshop environment.
You’ll also enjoy the challenge of complex work and take pride in delivering quality rebuilds, repairs and maintenance on Caterpillar equipment.
To be successful, you’ll have:
A qualified Mobile Plant Mechanic trade background
Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
Strong experience working on heavy equipment, including major repairs or rebuilds
Experience leading, motivating and developing a team
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
The ability to make sound decisions and think on your feet
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office
A strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
