Operations Level 4 - $72,866 plus superannuation

- + annualised allowance of $2,701

- + 9-day fortnight

What we are looking for:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Plant Operator to join our Road Projects team. In this hands-on role, your primary focus will be driving a water cart. Secondary to driving the water cart you will operate a range of specialist plant and fleet to support the delivery of road construction and maintenance projects across the Fraser Coast. Working within a supportive team environment, you will contribute to high-quality infrastructure outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on safety, efficiency and customer service.

What your day will look like:

- Operate specialist plant, fleet and associated equipment to complete road construction and maintenance works.

- Undertake labouring duties and support scheduled and reactive works programs.

- Conduct pre-start inspections and basic maintenance of vehicles, plant and equipment.

- Apply safe work practices, including traffic management and site safety requirements.

- Provide advice on plant utilisation, site access and safe work methods.

- Accurately record work activities, timesheets and service requests using Council systems.

What you’ll need for success:

- General Construction Induction (White Card).

- Valid HR licence recognised in Queensland.

- Relevant grader experience is desirable.

- Demonstrated experience operating plant and fleet within road and drainage maintenance or construction environments.

- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety, environmental and risk management requirements.

- Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to team outcomes.





- Well-developed communication and teamwork skills, including professional interaction with the public.

- Ability to use mobile devices and works management systems to record work activities and service requests.

What’s nice to have:

- Traffic Management Implementation (Level 2).

- Plant operation competencies or statements of attainment for equipment such as front-end loaders, excavators, backhoes and skid steers.

- Experience providing specialist plant operation advice and support in operational work environments.
