As a Job Coach with MADEC in Shepparton, you’ll bring people, opportunities and local employers together - helping participants take practical steps towards employment and build a future they can feel good about.

It’s a role for someone who enjoys connecting with people, solving problems and getting things moving.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll manage your own caseload of Workforce Australia participants, getting to know their individual circumstances and working with them to identify achievable employment goals.

Sometimes that means practical support with resumes, applications or interview preparation. Sometimes it means finding the right training, tackling a barrier that’s holding someone back or picking up the phone to an employer and creating an opportunity.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Building strong, professional relationships with participants

- Identifying strengths, goals and barriers to employment

- Developing practical and achievable employment plans

- Coaching participants through job searching, applications and interviews

- Connecting people with training, community and specialist services

- Building relationships with local employers and understanding their workforce needs

- Matching participants with suitable employment opportunities

- Supporting people as they transition into work and beyond

- Managing program requirements, records and participant obligations

- Working towards placement and sustainable employment outcomes

What will make you successful?

You know how to connect with people.

You can encourage someone when they need support, challenge them when they need a push and adapt your approach depending on the person sitting in front of you.





You’re also organised enough to keep multiple priorities moving, comfortable working towards targets and not afraid to pick up the phone and start a conversation.

Experience in employment services is great, but it’s certainly not the only pathway into this role.

You might come from:

- Recruitment or HR

- Community or disability services

- Sales or business development

- Customer service

- Education or training

- Case management

- Coaching or mentoring

- Another people-focused role where building relationships and achieving outcomes go hand in hand

What matters is that you bring empathy, resilience, initiative and a genuine belief in what people can achieve.

What you’ll need

- Current Driver’s Licence

- National Police Check

- Working With Children Check

A Certificate IV in Employment Services and knowledge of the Shepparton employment market and local support services would be highly regarded.
