Summary:

Country Diesel Maintenance is looking for an experienced Automotive / Diesel Mechanic to join our Alice Springs workshop.

Despite the name, we’re not just looking for a heavy diesel mechanic. If you’re trade-qualified in light vehicle, automotive or diesel mechanics and confident with diagnostics, servicing and repairs, we’d like to hear from you.

This is a permanent, full-time role offering plenty of variety across vehicles and equipment, modern workshop systems, dealer-backed training and the prospect to be part of a capable local team that takes pride in doing the job properly.

Responsibilities:

- Diagnose vehicle faults and carry out mechanical repairs and servicing to a high standard.
- Perform inspections and identify additional repairs or maintenance requirements.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve faults.
- Accurately record diagnostics, labour, repairs and parts using our Fullbay workshop management system.
- Work closely with our Service Advisor, Parts Advisor and workshop team to keep jobs moving efficiently.
- Communicate any delays, additional faults or job complications promptly.
- Follow workshop procedures, safety requirements and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workspace.

- Participate in training and development opportunities to continue building your skills.

Qualifications:

- Trade-qualified automotive, light vehicle or diesel mechanic, or equivalent experience.
- Experience performing diagnostics, servicing and mechanical repairs.
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to document work clearly and accurately.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to quality workmanship and maintaining a safe, organised workshop.
- Diesel or heavy vehicle experience is welcome, but isn’t essential. If you’re a qualified mechanic with solid diagnostic and repair skills, we encourage you to apply.

This role suits someone who wants variety, genuine responsibility, opportunities to develop their skills and the Central Australian lifestyle, rather than being one anonymous face in a big-city workshop.

Not sure if your experience is the perfect match? We’d still like to hear from you. Apply online or get in touch with Country Diesel Maintenance for a confidential chat: [email protected]
