CLINICAL NURSE MIDWIFE MANAGER – DISCHARGE COORDINATION

Here at Women Newborn Health Service we are excitedly rolling out our new midwifery and nursing leadership structure and we are permanently recruiting into these newly created and redefined positions within our team.

This is for Permanent Part-Time appointment. We have a Part-Time appointment of 48 hours per fortnight (0.63FTE).

About the Clinical Nurse Midwife Mnagaer – Discharge Coordination Role

The role of Clinical Nurse Midwife Mnagaer – Discharge Coordination offers genuine professional autonomy, exposure to complex and diverse clinical experiences, and the satisfaction of making a real difference at critical moments in people’s lives. Suitable applicants must be available to start on or around the 9 November 2026 and must be available to work across 7 days a week.

You will:

- Practises as a Senior Registered Midwife (SRM) in keeping with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board Registration Standards.
- Develop and maintain standards of practice to ensure the delivery of safe, quality patient care by all midwifery personnel within the assigned area of specialty, in line with the North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS) Vision, Mission and Values.
- Provides operational management and leadership for patient flow at Women & Newborn Health Service (WNHS) King Edward Memorial Hospital.
- Provide advanced clinical leadership and expert midwifery care to support the Clinical Midwifery Manager in the delivery of safe, high-quality, woman-centred care across nursing and midwifery services at Women & Newborn Health Service (WNHS) King Edwards Memorial Hospital.

KEMH has more than 60 Endorsed Midwives working across the organisation ensuring Midwives are able to work to their full scope and enhancing the patient experience.

- Home of specialised services including Maternal Fetal Medicine, Pregnancy Choice and Abortion Care, Pregnancy Loss Service, Women and Newborn Drug and Alcohol Service, Adolescent and Diabetes services caring for the high-risk population in WA.
- KEMH encompasses all midwifery models of care with opportunities to work within CMP, MGP, MAPS and complex multi-disciplinary teams
- Home to a state‑of‑the‑art Special Care Nursery
- Comprehensive gynaecological services supporting around 5,000 women annually

KEMH also manages key statewide programs, including BreastScreen WA, and other specialist services supporting women and babies across the state.

You must ensure your nominated referees are available to provide references when requested, as failure to do so may result in you being deemed unsuitable.

What happens next

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies, including temporary vacancies, throughout the health service or the wider public service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
