Would you enjoy taking a clinical lead within a supportive, cohesive team—meeting challenges with flexibility and creativity? Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist with a strong background in acute medical conditions, functional assessment and intervention in the home?
We have part-time, full-time, casual, fixed-term and permanent opportunities for Senior Occupational Therapists across several innovative programs:
- Senior Occupational Therapist CCT2Home (Emergency Department discharge support)
- Senior Occupational Therapist Hospital in the Home (HiTH)
- Senior Occupational Therapist Home Visiting
What is our Senior Occupational Therapist?
You’ll be supported by P3 Occupational Therapy Coordinators who provide regular supervision and access to education and career pathways across clinical practice, research and leadership. They’re committed to helping our OTs achieve their career goals.
CCT2Home
CCT2Home supports the safe and timely discharge of at-risk patients from the Emergency Department. Working with referrals from Emergency Department allied health staff, you’ll provide rapid follow-up and assess patients in their homes, provide interventions and reduce the risk of hospital readmission.
Your work may include falls, pressure care, cognition and home-environment assessments, along with appropriate interventions. Home-visiting experience is an advantage. A sound understanding of acute medical conditions, their impact on function and practical problem-solving is essential.
Hospital in the Home (HiTH)
As part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide advanced Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to patients receiving acute hospital-level care at home. You’ll help patients maintain or improve function and independence while managing risks related to acute medical conditions and their impact on occupational performance.
The HiTH service at SCGH also includes an innovative rehabilitation stream. An interest in rehabilitation is essential; previous rehabilitation experience is desirable.
Home Visiting
In this dynamic role, you’ll use highly developed skills in home assessment, equipment prescription and home modification. The service supports the discharge of complex patients from specialty areas including Cancer, Neurosciences, General Medicine and Surgery, and Aged Care.
While your qualifications and experience tell us part of your story, your values and attitude speak louder still. At NMHS,
