The South Melbourne Districts Amateur Football Club seeks applications for the upcoming 2027 season and beyond.

Competing in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) - Division 2 - we will compete in our 115th season in 2027. Having returned to Division 2 in 2023 following premierships to both our Seniors and Reserves teams, we have since been successful in making finals in three of the last four seasons.

We also have Women’s teams competing in the VAFA women’s competitions and will once again be fielding a U19 men’s team this coming season, after a stellar first season made possible as a result of the continued growth of our junior program. This is something the club is heavily invested in, and we need the right person to spearhead this crucial project as we move forward with the next step of our Junior to Senior pathway.

We are based in the Albert Park precinct adjacent to the Fraser St Light Rail stop.





Experience is sought in helping to build on and develop a young list that aspires to get to the Premier grades of the VAFA in the coming years.

Requirements

- Level 1 coaching accreditation required, level 2 preferred
- WWCC
- Previous senior coaching experience is required.
- Solid effective communication skills.
- To provide leadership and direction for team members.
- Ability to develop a game plan to suit the club and the wider senior program.
- Demonstrated experience at building and maintaining relationships with club stakeholders.
- An understanding and appreciation of the ethos of amateur football.
