In this role, you will be responsible for managing Freedom of Information applications and supporting the release of information in accordance with relevant legislation and departmental policy.
- Receiving, assessing and processing applications requesting access to confidential information under the Freedom of Information Act 1992 and other relevant legislation.
- Reviewing, analysing and assessing documents for release.
- Preparing responses to FOI applications and related requests.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders, external agencies and members of the public regarding information release matters.
- Providing advice on information management, confidentiality, privacy and information release obligations.
- Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintaining the security, integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information and records.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate:
- Knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act 1992 and related legislation as it applies to information release, confidentiality and privacy.
- Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate and high-quality correspondence.
- Robust organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Experience working with sensitive information in a government, regulatory or similar environment.
